All Shook Up- Review by Ann O'Louglin- Irish Independent, Sat May 22nd 2004
Maeve Larkin is a high-flying business executive but also a typical working mum, trying to juggle a job and bring up a baby. She seems to do this adequately until her childminder opts out just as Maeve is finalising a very important merger.
Husband Fintan sees his opportunity for a career break and he takes over as a house husband, but Maeve's worries are only beginning.
In this, her debut novel, Catherine Daly tackles the difficult dilemma faced by working mothers and the constant pull between children and career. Daly is a good storyteller and depicts life at home and the world of business equally well.
She easily brings the readers through the difficult highs and lows as Maeve weaves her way through a difficult period at work and attempts to keep her marriage intact.
The other characters in the book provide some lively moments making this the perfect holiday read.
